Sons of Anarchy is it declining or am I just an idiot with a keyboard?

I think it's safe to say the title pretty much covers what will be discussed below.

Sons of Anarchy has only started really so it seems a little unfair to judge the shows just yet.  Although in having said that, Sons of Anarchy S5E01 was brilliant another stroke of genius by the legend that is Kurt Sutter, unfortunately I was let down a bit in episode 2. I understand he stated the show will run at a slower pace, that's fine it's just there is too many sub plots going on and not enough screen time.

A prime example of this is when Opie punches Roosevelt just to get sent down with the others. That for me personally was a cop out by Sutter, I and many others expected Opie to really have his own storyline, the man has problems and lots of them, the club has ruined his family, taken his wife and his father, made him estranged from his kids and how does Sutter deal with that, punch a cop and come back to the club centre fold. Well no, it just can't be that easy Sutter, we as fans expect character development. Happy is another character constantly overlooked, last nights episode involved him grinning. That's all just a grin, this is a man we are supposed to fear above all others, he's "ruthless" when in actual fact I fear Filthy Phil more. There's been no development of him, he's just another member of the club. Also the wedding scene, granted a fancy church wedding is not within the style of the show but in a brothel and only because Jax is handing himself over to the cops.

I don't get it? Ever since the finale in Season 3, SoA has been on a decline, granted Season 3 wasn't exactly great (I didn't like the Irish stuff much). There has been moments in Season 4 where it was brilliant, that I will not deny, that whole Clay storyline was sublime. Season 5 just isn't cutting it for me and I'm sure many others agree, Kim Coates acting when his daughter was burning to death was horrible it sounded like he was having an orgasm while being raped by a bear.

Damon Pope & Nero are two fantastic additions to the cast and I see them working well this season. I am not fussed on these Nomads, the storyline I'm sure will pick up and the reason behind their activity is sure to be explosive but I just don't feel it, it has a whodunnit feel about it and that should only really be reserved for the soaps. (p.s who's shagging Kat Slater?)

Season 5: Episode 3 preview

Watch that preview before continuing to read otherwise it probably won't make much sense.

I personally can't wait to see these prison scenes, I think this is the turning point which will have me right back on the Sutter bandwagon, if only done right. If you see that Clay is with Bobby while meeting the cartel, that's just dangerous right there, I'm 50/50 on whether he wants the gavel back. Personally I think he'll do anything to get back there, that's his life, that's all he knows, without that he's nothing. He didn't get his payout from the cartel so now he needs the club.
This cartel C.I.A link is boring me now, I honestly thought it would be dropped, it was a nice ending to last season but how can Jax really be president and run the club his way when he has Clay's shit dragging him down. That's gonna end up in tatters, The Irish will see him as a rat, the club might do as well (although perhaps not as it was for the good of the club).

There's just something about Nero that it don't quite get he has a motive, he's up to something. It's all a little bit too coincidental that he so happens to poke (yes I said poke) Gemma, then helping Jax out. I think he's done his research, may even be an undercover cop, who knows. Christ he could even be Juice's uncle three times removed granny's nephews rat's owners son.  I don't know and I just don't trust him (that'll be the skeptic in me).

I suppose it's time to wrap this up, this has been my first ever blog, I appreciate you taking the time to read it if you have. Feel free to let me know what you think.
